Your cultural immersion begins in Cairo with the ultimate sight–the Great Pyramids. 4500 years ago the great Pharaohs thought that you "can take it with you" so they accumulated their treasures, wives and favorite pets and then stored it all in the big afterlife locker–the Pyramids. See the Sphinx, the Egyptian Museum, Memphis & Sakkara. The trip continues with a posh overnight train trip to Aswan, where we will board the African Queen for a 3-night Nile cruise. Disembark in Luxor to a mix of friendly faces, markets and bustling bazaars. The best way to end the trip is in Alexandria, where you can lounge like Cleopatra along the Mediterranean.
