Rub elbows with Italian culture as we fly into Italy for a two night stay on Lake Maggiore. Italy's second largest lake, Maggiore stretches all the way to the Swiss border and is set against a majestic Alpine backdrop. Next travel along the lake shore into Zurich. Switzerland melds the best of all worlds–and adds a healthy dose of chocolate, cowbells, and cable cars. We'll continue on to Germany's Black Forest, stopping to visit an open-air museum with demonstrations of traditional village life. From there, head to the Bavarian village of Oberammergau to see the people perform the Play of Suffering, Death and Resurrection of Our Lord Jesus Christ which occurs only once every 10 years! After an epic performance, we'll take the romantic road to Wurzburg. Stop along the way at the fairy-tale castle, Neuschwanstein. Hear about the "Mad King Ludwig" on the way through his crazy home. Enjoy 2 nights on Italian lakes, 1 night in Zurich, 1 night Black Forest, 2 nights Oberammergau, and 2 nights in charming Wurzburg.
