We start in Beijing in luxurious accommodations as we explore the most amazing sights of old Peking and modern Beijing! We begin with the Forbidden City and Tiananmen Square, and continue into the old town Hutongs by rickshaw pedicabs! We also visit a remote section of the Great Wall of China and enjoy a traditional Peking Duck feast. Our Tibet adventure begins as we roll out of the Beijing Railway Station headed for Tibet. Our two-day rail journey will be full of amazing vistas and new sights as we roll over the highest railway pass in the world, as well as the highest railway tunnel, and highest railway station! In Tibet we explore the Potala Palace, Jokhang Temple, and the flourishing Barkhor Street market. Another day of exotic Tibetan sights unfold before we fly to Xi'an to see the amazing Terra Cotta Warriors in their archaeological dig site. Another day of local sights are included before we fly to the picturesque city of Guilin.Time seems to slow in beautiful Guilin. The many trees, and beautifully sculpted water city bring a fresh breath of relaxing air after a country that has show so many frenzied sights. We visit the beautiful Reed Flute Cave, and cruise the Li River with wispy fog and beautiful limestone mountains. With luck we may even see a traditional cormorant fisherman on the riverbank. After so many sights we still have modern and vibrant Shanghai. For three days we explore the ins and out of this amazing Asian city before we fly home on our international flight to Seattle.
