Join Alki Tours on Guide Dog Graduation

January 18, 2020
$159 Per Person

They're all good dogs--but some are also vital to their owner's wellbeing and independence. Guide dogs are probably the best-known kind of assistance dog. They spend their careers aiding people with blindness to navigate the world safely and with dignity. The dogs might be seen assisting blind and visually-impaired people to navigate obstacles and safely negotiate traffic, helping them be more independent. We're heading to the Guide Dog Campus to see the dormitory where the students are assigned their dogs, the kitchen where they whip up dog food--160 dog dishes lined in a row-- where they feed their puppies. Finally witness the graduation where puppy raisers and blind students express how having these news eyes have changed their lives. Transportation, lunch and entrance fees are included.
