Start by boarding the Coast Starlight in Seattle and head south through Redwood forests to a magnificent coastline. Amtrak will pamper us with all meals included and afternoon wine tastings in the exclusive Pacific Parlour Car–our own lounge to enjoy. After dinner, fall asleep to the gentle sounds of the train and whistling rails. Enjoy a second day of rail with the scenic beauty of the California Coast. Arrive in Los Angeles and our pre-cruise begins as we board the Queen Mary for the night! She may never leave the dock, but this wonderful treat will give us a peek into cruising past as we enjoy the luxury of an earlier era. After a hearty breakfast onboard, it's time to enjoy and explore sunny Long Beach. Later in the afternoon, board Royal Caribbean's Monarch of the Seas, which will be our home for the next four nights. A fun and comfortable little ship, The Monarch will be a place to relax and enjoy the sunshine as we cruise between the ports of San Diego, Catalina Island and Ensenada, Mexico. Disembarking in Los Angeles, we will explore Hollywood. Enjoy a festive farewell dinner and restful night's sleep before re-boarding the Coast Starlight home.
